Step 1
Oklahoma's helmet rule
Oklahoma law requires a motorcycle operator or passenger under 18 to wear compliant protective headgear. Adult riders are not required by that section to wear a helmet, but the legal rule is only one part of what may happen after a crash.
- The under-18 helmet rule comes from Title 47, Section 12-609.
- The same section also addresses protective eyewear unless the motorcycle has a windscreen.
- A helmet-law question is different from the question of who caused the crash.
